Imtiaz Ali’s next starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan has been finally given a name. According to a source close to the development, the makers have already finalized a title and have also registered it with IMPPA (Indian Motion Picture Producer’s Association). “Maddock Films has registered the title #Aajkal for the Kartik Aaryan & Sara Ali Khan starrer with the board”.
The film is claimed to be the sequel of Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starred ‘Love Aajkal’ but an official statement regarding the same has not been done yet.
The two young actors will share the screen space in the film, also starring Randeep Hooda. The film also marks the second collaboration of producer Dinesh Vijan and director Imtiaz Ali after ‘Love Aaj Kal’.
As per reports, “Unlike Imtiaz’s previous two films – Jab Harry Met Sejal and Tamasha – which were set in foreign locales, this one will be shot in Punjab and Delhi.”
Confirming the news Kartik said, “He (Imtiaz) is one of my favorite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening.”
‘Love Aaj Kal’ was a hit film of 2009 and it featured Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Recently, Sara’s father Saif Ali Khan was roped in to play an important role in the rom-com, for the sequel of his own hit film with Imtiaz — ‘Love Aaj Kal’.
“Modalities are fast being worked out. Randeep is a perfect fit for the part. His character offers a clearer and experienced perspective on love to the lead pair,” revealed by a source close to the project.
