The Telangana High Court has adjourned the Telangana Board intermediate results goof-up case for on week. The next hearing will now take place on May 15th, 2019.

The reason behind the delay is, Telangana Board has asked for the time span of one week from the court to justify itself as it will be declaring the re-evaluated results by next week.

The case has been taken to the court after an NGO ‘Balala Hakkula Sangham,’ working for child rights filed a petition in the High court to investigate the adhered matter as 22 students have end their lives due to failure in the exams and three have risked their lives severely.

What is the matter?

It all started when Telangana board declared the result of class 12th on 18th April, 2019. Nearly 9 lakh students appeared for the exam in the entire state and 3.28 lakh students were declared failed.

The students, parents and other education institutional groups indulged in a misery as of how such big no. of students can fail in bulk. In amidst of the situation the parents and the educational groups like PDSU and ABVP landed on streets to protest against such blunder.

Though, a three-member committee headed by GT Venkateswar Rao, Managing Director of State Technological Service was set-up to look deeply into the matter.

The software service Globarena Technologies is also taken into encounter, in misleading of the checking process of student’s answersheets.

Telangana Board’s Defend

Though, Telangana Board has denied all the allegations charged on it, days before its’ appearance in the court. The Board in its justification said, “It got all the scripts of candidates, who committed suicides and got it re-verified by the subject experts by forming a committee and checked for any errors either in evaluating the answer scripts, posting of marks or for totaling mistakes.”

“One student committed suicide even after scoring around 85% marks and getting ‘A’ Grade while another student committed suicide after writing the third paper thinking that she would fail while in fact, she had passed in all the subjects she had attempted,” it added.

This was come out after board did a deep analysis after getting charged under allegations. Though, the board has not openly released the answersheets of the students, who committed suicide and others but have asked the parents of the students to file a request to the board and the copy will be released to them.
