Addressing through a video message on Saturday to the 2nd edition of ‘Samvad- Global Initiative on Conflict Avoidance and Environment Consciousness’ being held in Yangon Narendra Modi said that as a product of ancient Indian traditions he is a firm believer that dialogue is the solution to any difficult issue.

Talking about the major issues of environmental changes and deep-rooted religious stereotypes and prejudices that divide communities across the world and sow seeds of conflict between nations and societies he said that discussing and having a debate about the issue definitely gives some solution for it. “As the inter-connected and interdependent world of 21st century battles a number of global challenges, from terrorism to climate change, I am confident that the solutions will be found through Asia’s oldest traditions of dialogue and debate,” he said.

He further added that the best way o avoid conflict is dialogue and debate as depicted in the concept of ‘Tarka Shastra’ (Debate). He said that the purpose of each of lives of Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha and Bhakta Prahlada was to uphold ‘Dharma’ and this duty also sustains every Indian. Further talking about the environmental issues he added that humans should relate to it and just not exploit it as a resource. If the man does not nurture nature, then nature reacts in the form of climate change, he said.
