The Telangana State Election Commission has served notices to five politicians for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. The Chief Electoral officer, Rajat Kumar informed the media that notices have been served to Irrigation Minister and KCR’s Nephew, T Harish Rao, Congress Leader Revanth Reddy, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Leader Vanteru Pratap Reddy, and TDP Leader Reveru Prakash Reddy.

He further said that “We have received numerous complaints, one of which is against Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Uttam Kumar Reddy for speaking at a religious meeting. We have a sent a notice to him and ask him to furnish his answer” Another Complaint he has received is of TRS Candidate and Former MLA Gangula Kamalkar for allegedly threatening a BJP Leader.

Other complaints are being examined and necessary actions would be taken against each.

Informing about the preparation for the polling, he said a total of 32,796 polling booths have been set up in order to have smooth functioning of the election process. Around 48,000 security personnel have been deployed on the Polling day to avoid any mishap during the electoral process. Apart from this 279 companies of Central Paramilitary forces would also be deployed.

He has confirmed to received more than 3500 nominations for the 119 seats.

Since the model code of conduct imposed in the state, more that Rs.90.72 crore cash and goods have been seized.
