Volvo Car India has finally launched the Volvo S60 luxury sedan in India. The all-new Swedish sedan rolls out with an introductory price tag and it starts straight away from Rs.45.90 Lakh onwards. Deliveries of the all-new Volvo S60 will commence soon. Meanwhile, till then customers can book the extremely luxurious S60 against a token amount of Rs.1,00,000.

Design

Design-wise, the 2021 Volvo S60 looks extremely premium with that refreshed look. Unlike the outgoing variant, the recently launched sedan now offers a wider grille for proper cooling, LED headlamps with DRLs and a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels. Apart from this, the rear section with that revamped taillight now looks similar to the more premium S90.

With a never-ending feature list, the new generation Volvo S60 will be available with a T4 Inscription variant only. It will be loaded with all the features such as a vertical 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, wireless charging pad, sunroof, reverse parking camera and a surround sound system by Harman Kardon. Further, the infotainment system is now compatible with both Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. Want some more features? Well, there are ample amount of safety aids such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, steering assistance system, etc.

Engine

India bound Volvo S60 will come powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It churns out a massive 190Ps of power alongside a peak torque of 300Nm while being mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. However, owners can alter the performance of the luxury sedan by using the drive mode selector. The drive mode selector on the other hand offers 3 different modes including – Comfort, Eco and Dynamic.

In India, Volvo S60 usually competes against rivals such as Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes Benz C-Class and Jaguar XE. Meanwhile, this time the updated offering by Swedish carmaker will continue to do so. Apart from this, Volvo is also planning to introduce a plug-in hybrid SUV for the Indian market and it is the XC40 that is expected to get electrified soon.
