Global NCAP once again tests Honda Amaze, and the results are out. The car manages to score a 2-star rating, with Global NCAP being more stringent with standard features.

Read the complete details below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The Global NCAP again tested the Honda Amaze.
  • Scores 2-star ratings for adult occupant protection.
  • Child occupant protection cannot even match that.

Honda Amaze Underperforms In Latest Global NCAP Crash Test

As per the reports from the recent evaluation, Amaze managed to get a 27.85 out of 34.00, resulting in a two-star rating for adult occupant protection. For child occupant protection, the sub-four meter sedan managed to clock just 8.58 points out of 49.00.

Starting with the frontal impact test, it managed to offer good protection for the head and neck (both driver and co-driver). The chest, knee and tibias protection was rated adequate, marginal and good, respectively.

The side impact crash test was also a part of the assessment. It says that the head and pelvis protection was good enough. Meanwhile, the chest and abdomen showed marginal and adequate protection. The Global NCAP did not go for a side pole test on the Amaze due to the unavailability of side curtain airbags.

For child occupant protection, the testing body got a 3-year-old dummy and a forward-facing child seat. It was anchored on the ISOFIX mounts. Now, though the head did not have much impact, it still came into contact with the interior. The Global NCAP also came up with an 18-month-old child dummy with a rearward-facing seat. Here, the protection was inadequate. The CRS, though, managed to offer complete protection in the side impact crash test.

Overall, the result might not be encouraging but the Honda Amaze has been tested for the second time by the same testing body. It is because of the new parameters that the car was not able to manage a good score.

The 2023 Honda Amaze also managed to get one positive review, as the bodyshell and footwell area managed to get a stable rating. The Global NCAP also said that it was capable of withstanding further load.
