Skoda Kushaq was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo as Vision IN Concept. However, the production version was soon renamed as the Skoda Kushaq. Interestingly, this time the Czech carmaker has confirmed that the all-new Skoda Kushaq is introduced specially for the Indian market and is based upon the feedback from the customers here. Skoda has also announced that Kushaq will be revealed in March after that it will start reaching the dealerships.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Skoda will be unveiling the Kushaq SUV in March.
- The all-new Skoda Kushaq is highly customised for the Indian market.
- It will be available with two turbocharged petrol engines on offer.
As the carmaker has not revealed the exterior and interior yet, there are certain features we expect the upcoming SUV to accompany. Starting with the cabin, Skoda Kushaq will get an all-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and a touchscreen infotainment system among others. Further, with a long wheelbase that stands at 2651mm, it will be offering a decent amount of rear-seat space.
Skoda Kushaq will not be getting a diesel engine. However, there will be two turbocharged petrol engines offer including a 1.0-litre and a 1.5-litre unit. Coming back to reality, the demand for diesel engines is still soaring and the carmaker should have offered one.
Apart from this, multiple safety features such as six airbags, ESC, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX mounts will be available on the Skoda Kushaq.
When launched, it will go head-on against the likes of:
- Hyundai Creta,
- MG Hector,
- Kia Seltos,
- Tata Harrier and
- upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
Another cool fact about the Skoda Kushaq is that it shares the same MQB-A0 platform with the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
