Infosys Office

One of the most respected Information Technology (IT) service major, Infosys has decided to hire 20,000 people in place of 400 employees. These employees are asked to leave, due to their poor performance.

Infosys Chief Operating Officer(COO), UB Pravin Rao said, “The technology-driven transformation presents new opportunities for companies like Infosys”. He also added that the company is “creating more jobs, adding more people and letting go of the only minuscule number of people, purely from performance related perspective”. While, he denied commenting on the views of Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy. He proclaimed that companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys, will continue to hire in large number.

In the meantime, various employee unions have approached labor commissioners and state governments to interfere in the matter.

These statements of job loss is over-stated. Last year too, Infosys has hired around 20,000 people to work for them. Now, they will recruit 10,000 employees in the first half of the year in accordance with the above announcement.
