According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Indian business tycoon and chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, Mukesh Ambani who now worths $68.3 billion have surpassed the worth of Warren Buffett as on July 9. Warren Buffet has a worth of $67.9 billion presently.

Mr Ambani led RIL’s shares have more than doubled since a low in March as its subsidiary unit, Jio got more than $15 billion in investments from several globally leading companies such as Facebook Inc. Recently, BP Plc invested $1 billion in Reliance’s fuel-retail business to acquire stakes in it.

Mr Ambani recently became the only Asian tycoon to make it into the list of world’s top 10 richest people. While Mr Buffett’s fortune decreased this week as he donated $2.9 billion of his wealth in charity.

Warren Buffet rankings have gone down as a result of donating more than $37 billion of Berkshire Hathaway Inc stock since 2006. Berkshire Hathaway’s stock performance has also started to become worse recently.

Mr Ambani is now at the eighth position in the richest persons on the planet list while Mr Buffett position is at ninth, according to the index, which started in 2012.
