Nothing, the technology company founded by Carl Pei, has confirmed that his product ear (1) wireless earbuds are all set to land in India. Nothing has confirmed its partnership with the Indian e-commerce marketplace Flipkart.

This has come after a time when Nothing has confirmed the Ear1 wireless earbuds, the first tech product from the company, will be hitting the markets this summer. This exclusive partnership with Flipkart acknowledges the importance of Indian markets and its position in the global world. Nothing also confirms that the launch of their ear (1) wireless earbuds in India will happen alongside the global availability.

Flipkart has said that Nothing ear (1) will be available on their-commerce site with No Cost EMI and fast delivery options.

The Nothing ear (1) was announced earlier this year with their work-in-progress name Concept 1.

“At Nothing, we aim to create easy to use consumer tech products with iconic designs that will bring differentiated value to our users in India and around the world,” Manu Sharma, Vice President and General Manager, Nothing India, said.

“For the upcoming launch of the ear (1), we are excited to partner with Flipkart as we mark Nothing’s entry in India. Flipkart’s pan-India supply chain will be instrumental in reaching Nothing customers and delivering a superior end-to-end product experience, which is very important to us,” says Manu Sharma, Vice President and General Manager, Nothing India.

“India is one of the fastest-growing audio devices markets in the world and is expanding rapidly on the back of the work from home culture and customers seeking high-performance devices to suit their evolving needs,” said Rakesh Krishnan, Senior Director, Electronics at Flipkart.

In India, the wearables market witnessed a year-on-year growth of 144.3% in 2020, ending 2020 with 36.4 Mn unit shipments. Earwear device shipments grew more than thrice in 2020 compared to the years previous to that. The factors attributed to such growth were affordable launches,  and the need for such wearables for virtual meetings and e-learning requirements.

The ear wear category amounts to 83.6% of the overall wearable market share having 30.4 Mn unit shipments in 2020. Indian earwear players such as boAt, and Boult Audio are few companies that are leading the race in the Indian startup ecosystem.
