Under the government’s scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), HDFC has on Sunday, disbursed over Rs 1,100 crore to over 51,000 customers belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low Income Group (LIG) and Middle-Income Group (MIG) segments.
In a statement, housing finance firm said HDFC has provided loans over Rs 9,800 to these categories (EWS, LIG, and MIG), under PMAY-CLSS (Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme).
It also stated that during the quarter ended September 30, 2018, HDFC has approved home loans to the customers belonging to the EWS and LIG segment, about 37 percent in volume terms and 18 percent in value terms.
It further stated that on an average, HDFC has been approving 8,300 loans on monthly basis to the EWS and LIG segment, with an estimated value approximately about Rs 1,354 crore.
The statement further added stating that the average home loans stood at Rs 10.1 lakh and Rs 17.6 lakh to the EWS and LIG segment, respectively.
