Reliance jio shows remarkable 16.5% increase in subscribers as compared to last financial year: jio official report

India’s leading telecom operator Reliance jio sets a benchmark touching 186.6 million subscribers at the end of FY18, Last year company had 161 million subscribers and shows a remarkable 16.5% increase this term. Jio led by Mukesh Ambani pointed about jio’s increasing popularity in the market .

In his letter to shareholders, Mukesh Ambani stated that jio is profitable since its first year of operation. He accounted that company made a profit of Rs723 crores with a total turnover of Rs 23,714 in 2016-17.

He also mentioned that jio is now world’s largest and fastest growing mobile data network.

“Jio continued with its strong subscriber growth, with 186.6 million customers at the end of March 2018, and the lowest churn in the industry at 0.25% per month. Each Jio subscriber on an average consumes 9.7 GB data, 716 minutes of voice calls, and 13.8 hours of video per month,” Reliance CMD said.

In the annual report, The company claimed to cover 99% population by 2020. The report also pointed jio’s efforts in the field of AI and IoT. With increasing demand, the company also launched various promotional offers like free data pack during IPL 2018, extended prime membership for one more year.
