According to the recently released QS world University Ranking, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has been ranked as the best University in the country. IIT-B has surpassed IISC Banglore which was earlier ranked as the Top institute in India according to the Times HE Asia University Ranking.

However, IISC Banglore in QS ranking has been ranked as the Best Research institute in the world with a top notch score of 100 out of 100. IISC has topped the list beating other renowned international universities like Princeton University, Harvard’s University and the South Korea’s Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology.

Going into the top 400 ranks, a total of 8 indian universities has secured their spots. Out of this, seven has been taken by major IITs. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IISC Banglore has made in into the top 200. However, the ranking of Indian universities has not changed since 2017 other then IISC moving to the top in reaserch impact.

At the international level, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has conquered the Top spot this year as well. In the list of top 10, 5 universities are from USA and 4 universities from the UK. The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology from Switzerland is the only Non-UK or non-US based university in top 10.

The United States with 117 institutes has the most number of secured ranks from a single nation. The Ranking List currently features 1300 institutions from around the globe. Another country which has made a remark in rankings is Canada. 28 universities from Canada are ranked in the top 100 with highest at 26th position.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) stands on the top most rank in asian region. NUS is placed at 11th rank in the global list and is the highest scorer in “academic reputation” criteria. China and indonesia dominated the asian list. The top performer from india IIT Bombay has secured 117th rank globally.
