About
The government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) with the National Policy on Education in the year 1986. Presently Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are spread in 27 States and 7 Union Territories. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti School is one of them. The school is an English medium, co- educational school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and organized by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The school has running classes from 6th to 12th with a different pattern of entrance in every class. There are well-educated teachers in Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti School.
Admissions
Admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandigarh are made through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) at class 6th. Students of the JNVs appear for 10th and 12th class examinations in the Central Board of Secondary Education. Education in the schools is free. uniforms and textbooks and boarding charges are also free. Only a nominal fee of Rs. 200/- per month is collected from the children from 9th to 12th class. However, children belonging to SC/ST, Girls, Physically Handicapped and from the families whose income is below Poverty line are off the hook from payment of fees.

- 2 passport size photo of the student
- 1, 1 photos of father and mother of the child.
