It has been little over a decade since JP Dutta wielded the megaphone as the director for the film ‘Umrao Jaan’ that starred Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Bachchan. Well, now the filmmaker is all set to return to direction with yet another film based on 1962 Indo-China war.
JP Dutta whose last film was Umrao Jaan in 2006 is set to begin his next with Abhishek Bachchan and Pulkit Samrat. The war drama, titled ‘Paltan‘ said to be based on the 1962 Indo-China war and the film will be shot extensively in Sikkim and Ladakh and the locations and the permissions for shooting in these locations have already been secured by the filmmaker. This will be the fourth film that J.P Dutta and Abhishek will work together on again after ‘Refugee’, ‘LOC’, ‘Kargil’ and ‘Umrao Jaan’. The female leads are being finalised.
However, there were speculations that the movie will also see Sooraj Pancholi, But according to the source, Sooraj is not doing the film. The reports are baseless and completely untrue. The film is expected to go on floors soon.
