Tom Hanks upcoming World War II drama ‘Greyhound’ is going to premiere on Apple TV plus. Sony Pictures’ is producing the film, directed by Aaron Schneider.

The film was supposed to release on June 12 but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it has been delayed. Now, Apple will release it digitally at a later date.

Apple acquired its distribution rights at USD 70 million.

The film, based on the 1955 novel ‘The Good Shepherd’ by CS Forester has its screenplay written by lead actor, Tom Hanks. It also features Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan and Elisabeth Shue in prominent roles.

Set in the early days of World War II, it is a story about a U.S. Navy commander’s first war time assignment in command of a multi-national escort group defending a merchant ship convoy under attack by submarines in early 1942. Hank plays the role of Commander Ernest Krause.
