It was yesterday reported that Akshay Kumar is all set to co-produce the Hindi remake of a Telugu film called Bhaagmathie. While the original film had Bahubali actress Anushka Shetty in the lead role, the Bollywood version was reported to be starring R. Madhavan and Bhumi Pednekar.

However, the Tanu Weds Manu actor has denied such reports merely as rumours. R. Madhavan has not been approached by the makers for such a film and therefore is not acting in it. The actor took to his Twitter handle to give the clarification and wrote, “Hey guys .. not true . I have no idea about this project. ”

Reports are also doing the rounds on internet that the remake will be directed by G Ashok who directed the original film and will also feature Akshay Kumar in a cameo appearance.

Coming back to Bhaagamathie, the story revolves around a female IAS officer Chanchala Reddy played by Anushka Shetty, who gets imprisoned in a haunted house. Things start to take an unexpected turn when she gets possessed by a spirit. Anushka received wide acclaim for her performance and emerged as second Indian actress after Sridevi to have a $1 million grosser at the USA Box Office.
