English actor Alfie Allen, known for his role in the television series Game of Thrones, says that he is “shocked and saddened” after knowing about the death of his stunt double Andrew Dunbar.

Allen expressed his condolences on his official Instagram handle, “Andrew was an actor who was also a stand-in as Theon on GoT. Extremely shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. To lose a loved one so young, I can only imagine what his family are going through. RIP Andrew.”

Fellow co-star Andy McClay said: “Everyone always wanted Andrew. There was just something about him that was special. People always felt good around him, happy, excited for the day’s work and there was always a lot of fun when he was around.”

“A lot of people plan to travel to attend his funeral; actors, directors, make-up and many, many more. Everyone who met Andrew loved him,” he further added.

Dunbar had died suddenly at his home in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Christmas eve. His death has not been treated as suspicious as per reports by The Independent.

He had worked as a body double for Theon Greyjoy, a character played by Allen in HBO’s popular fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. He had acted in shows such as the Irish sitcom Derry Girls and the British police procedural Line of Duty.
