Geeta Phogat is a freestyle wrestler. She won India’s first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010. Geeta is the first Indian female wrestler to have qualified for the Olympic Summer Games. Geeta is all set to make her television debut with the adventure based reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 8’.
During a recent interview, she made some revelations about her family and husband reacted to the news of her being offered a reality show. She also revealed that she will not be pursuing her career in acting or films. She would not even think of returning to TV for at least a year. She Said, “I have no intentions of going further in this field, and won’t even take up any TV show for the next one year.”
About her upcoming show “Khatron Ke Khiladi 8”, She said, “I have received a lot of love and respect from my co-contestants on Khatron Ke Khiladi, which is equal to the love I got in the field of wrestling all my life. I knew that I would somehow adjust with the celebrities on Khantron ke Khiladi, but didn’t know I would do it so well. Now I am meeting them during promotions, and I don’t know when would I meet them next because everyone is from a different field. I have learned a lot from all of them, which will help me all my life. They took great care of me. Whenever I told them that I want to go home, they would say that if a strong person like me would say such a thing, what would the others do. They have motivated me a lot.”
Talking about her family and her husband’s reaction to the news of her being offered the show, Geeta said, “I told my dad and my husband about it. Both of them agreed, but my father first asked me about my practices, so I said that it is for some time, so I will practice after that. Then he left it on me and told me to win and come home.”
