Akshay Kumar starrer Hosefull 4 is going strong at the box office despite all the negative reviews. The film has even entered the sought-after Rs 200 crore club.
While the film has a huge star cast, it has been pointed out in several reviews that the female actors of the film do not have much to do in the film. When Bollywood is changing in terms of female characters and substantial roles are being written for actresses, Housefull 4 comes a a disappointment.
Housefull 4 actress Kriti Kharbanda who plays Rajkumari Meena / Neha in the film recently opened up about her part and its strength in the film. The actress did not mince the words and candidly admitted that she knew she did not have strong role in the film.
During a recent promotional interview of her upcoming film Pagalpanti, the actress opened up about her struggle and admitted that she never thought of being a part of a film like Housefull 4. “I was not allowed to dream that big,” she said.
After doing films in South and making debut in Bollywood, she eventually received wider erecognition and acclaim for her performance in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana opposite Rajkummar Rao.
She shared that she was offered Housefull 4 because of her work in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. “Nadiadwala Sir watched Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana and offered me Housefull 4. He told me there is no scope of acting but you will have fun and a great time. He said ‘If you are looking for what you found in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, you are not going to get it here but what I can promise you is a great time. I will make sure that people will notice you because that is what you need at this time.’ “, she said.
Kriti will next be seen in Anees Bazmee’s multi-starrer Pagalpanti that is releasing on 22 November.
