Britain and India have a long history of working together for a feature film. A new feature film involving teams of both countries is coming out soon. The British-India feature film is titled Footprints on Water. Actors Adil Hussain and Antonio Akeel are going to star in the lead roles.
Writing the film is Neetha Syam and directing it is, Nathalia Syam. It is a film which will be about an illegal immigrant father in the UK who is trying to find his missing daughter while at the same time, he is trying not to get caught.
Through the film, the makers are going to show the struggles of various immigrants in the UK. The role of the missing girl’s father is being portrayed by Adil Hussain while actress Lena Kumar will play the role of his wife.
The actor, Antonio Akeel is starring in the film as an Afghani Refugee. His earlier credits include films like Tomb Raider and The Hungry.
Mohaan Nadaar’s London based production house, The Production Headquarters is the one backing the film. The company is behind many British-India feature films, with their upcoming project Rat on a Highway which was shot in Scotland being one of them. It stars Indian actor, Randeep Hooda.
The decision to produce Footprints on Water appealed to Nadaar because he found the script of the film engaging. In a statement released, he said:
“This is a global story and had a very interesting script. This is why I am producing this film. Adil is a good friend and I am happy to have him in the film. He has already done a lot of Hollywood and international projects like Life of Pi and What Will People Say.”
Meanwhile, the film will start its principal photography in December.
