According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Kartik has been roped for the role in the remake of Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Sinha starrer ‘Pato Patni Aur Woh’. The film is produced by Juno Chopra and is directed by Mudassar Aziz. The makers of the film demanded someone cute and glamorous for the role of ‘woh’ which was earlier played Ranjeeta Kaur in the original film. Therefore, they approached Ananya Panday for this role. Soon after the Karan Johar’s protegee heard the script of the film, she agreed and immediately gave bulk dates.
A source revealed, the idea was to remake this classic film with a young cast but the banner also plans to get a top actress on board for the wife’s role, which was essayed by Vidya Sinha in the 1978 film. The informer also added that Kartik Aaryan who will play the role of Sanjeev Kumar from the original, “ He was the top contender for the male lead as he’s popular with the youth today. The makers wanted a hero, who has a boy-next-door vibe and is also great with comedy since it’s a humorous take on extra-marital affairs. So, the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor was their first choice. Kartik and Ananya have already done a few readings together.”
The Producer Juno Chopra and the Director Mudassar Aziz had made some changes in the script to suit the contemporary times and they have also decided to make changes in the climax. The film goes on the floor from next month.
