Lady superstar of the South Indian cinema Nayanthara has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Rajinikanth. This will be their fourth collaboration after ‘Chandramukhi’, ‘Kuselan’, and ‘Sivaji’. The film titled ‘Thalaivar167’ is expected to go on floors by April, this year in Mumbai.
Over the last few days, some rumors regarding SJ Suryah being the part of the film were making rounds but putting these rumors to rest, Rajinikanth publicist Riaz Ahmed on Monday announced that only Nayanthara has been officially signed yet, on Twitter. He wrote, “The rumors being speculated about the cast of Thalaivar 167 is not authentic, as of now, only Nayanthara has been roped in the film! Kindly do not spread the news until you get an official press release about the entire confirmed cast.”

A popular lensman Santosh Sivan also announced his next project with Rajinikanth on twitter. He will be working with the megastar after two decades, as they worked together in ‘Thalapathy’.
In an interview, Anirudh Ravichander also confirmed that he is on board the project as composer.
Sun Pictures were originally supposed to bankroll the project but due to recent Sarkar controversy, they had to back out. Now, the makers of ‘2.0’ Lyca Productions will finance the film. It will be Rajinikanth and Lyca’s third film together, after ‘Kaala’ and ‘2.0’.
