Kashmir’s enchanting beauty has always fascinated Bollywood. Taking the bond to another height, the premiere of Bollywood film Sargoshiya was held at the banks of the famous Dal lake in Sheri Kashmir International Conference Complex in Srinagar.

Sargoshiyan is not just a story about the beauty of Kashmir but also unfolds the untold stories from the Valley. It reflects on Kashmiriyat that is ingrained in every Kashmiri irrespective of their religion or caste. The story of the film is about the two boys from Mumbai, played by Indraneil Sengupta and Hasan Zaidi. The film also features Sara Khan (European photographer) who is in search of solace and travels to the valley her Ph.D. on its history.

All the three stories intertwine to make them realize that ‘Kashmir is Not for Terrorists, it’s for Tourist’.

Imran Khan, started shooting Sargoshiyan in 2015 with the full support of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank and the Department of Tourism. The movie, which has been extensively shot in Kashmir, drew huge crowds and applause during its premiere.

Kashmir at present has no cinema halls and it is only after decades that Kashmiris have got a chance to see a Bollywood movie on screen at the SKICC.

The film will be released on May 19 and will be screened in around 500 theatres across India.
