The ancestral home of Kapoors will be preserved in Pakistan. Raj Kapoor’s second son Rishi kapoor asked the Pakistan government to convert their family home into a museum or some sort of institute.

Home was built by Prithviraj Kapoor’s father Basheswarnath Kapoor in the Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar.

Pakistan government, as per Rishi Kapoor’ request, is planning to turn their home into a museum. Talking to some Indian journalist visiting Pakistan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, “There was a call from Rishi Kapoor. He requested that his family’s home in Peshawar should be made into a museum or some sort of institution. We have accepted his request,”

Pakistan’s Interior Minister of State Shehryar Khan Afridi said, “He (Rishi Kapoor) had called me and talked about making his ancestral home into a museum. Now the federal and provincial governments are working on this and will transform the house into a museum soon,”

Rishi Kapoor is the third generation of Kapoor legacy in Bollywood industry. Kapoors have been ruling the film industry ever since Prithviraj Kapoor entered in the industry with his debut movie ‘Do Dhari Talwar’, in which he worked as an extra. Prithviraj Kapoor got his first Bollywood break with ‘Cinema Girl’ in 1929. And since then, it was no turning back.

Most of the members of Kapoor family are in Cinema industry. Either in front of the camera or behind it.

The Kapoor family left Peshawar after the Partition in 1947.
