Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies goes on the floor. Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor are set for a big debut with the Netflix film. The director shared a picture from the sets of The Archies, which marks the Bollywood debut of the trio.
Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor To Make Bollywood Debut
According to the latest reports, Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana, Bonney Kapoor and Sridevi’s daughter, Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda are set for their Bollywood debut. The star kids are set to mark a big debut with Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming film The Archies. The film is reportedly set to release on Netflix.
The director took to her Instagram and shared the first picture from the sets of the movie, announcing the shoot’s commencement. The post captions, “Back To The Future💥 #thearchies #supercalifragilisticexpialidocious @netflix_in @tigerbabyfilms @reemakagti1!” Producer Reema Kagti too shared the news on social media.
Last month, the pictures from the sets went viral. Reportedly, Khushi Kapoor will portray the character Betty, Suhana Khan will play Veronica and Agastya Nanda will essay the role of Archie. However, these are all speculations. The makers haven’t confirmed it yet.
The Archies Goes On Floor
Zoya Akhtar’s comic drama featuring the star kids begins its shoot. The adventures of Archies and his squad are set to be brought by Zoya Akhtar in Indian version. The director is set to launch Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor with The Archies.
Set in the 1960s, The Archies will be a live-action musical introducing the fictional town of Riverdale to a new generation. Gully Boy director is excited about the collaboration since the comic has been part of her childhood and teenage years. “I have to make sure the film stokes the nostalgia of a generation that grew up on the comic and yet resonates with the young adults today,” says the director.
Going by the pictures that went viral from the film’s set, seems like Suhana Khan will be Veronica Lodge, Khushi Kapoor’s look has a resemblance to Betty Cooper and Agastya Nanda, no point for guessing, will be Archie Andrews. The trio were also spotted on the film’s set in March, reportedly for a costume trial.
Created by John L Goldwater and artist Bob Montana in 1941, the character Archie Andrews first appeared in the Pep Comics and became an iconic character worldwide. Characters from The Archies comics have been immortalized by several adaptions of films and cartoon series in various countries and languages.
Comic book characters Archie Andrews and his friends will now be seen in an Indian film version on Netflix.
