Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is currently gearing up for his upcoming Indian Hindi action-comedy film ‘Judwaa 2‘, which is directed by David Dhawan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and written by Sajid Farhad. The movie features Varun Dhawan in a double role as estranged twins opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. ‘Judwaa 2’ is a sequel to David Dhawan’s 1997 film Judwaa.
Varun says that he has applied for a job with a foreign bank, but midway through the interview he was told that given all the theater and drama classes so he had packed them into the extracurricular activity space. He said that he has better suited for a career in the movies. He actually reinforced this observation by acting out scenes from the movies he would have grown up watching and by the end of the interview, there was a complete stranger who figured it out that which Dhawan he was and was advising him to follow his heart.
Varun, however, chose the longer route rather than the shorter one. Instead of using his father’s name and his connections he enrolled himself in every acting class in the town. He used to watch Dev Anand and Shami Kapoor’s movies to learn the craft from the one who is masters of the commercial Hindi cinema. He has even assisted Karan Johar on his directorial debut movie titled ‘My Name Is Khan’. He even made a short movie on the drugs, he gave a countless audition for the movies and he waited for the makers to go to his dad and say that they have signed Varun for his next movie.
He actually waited for too long and there was a time when he even got frustrated, but finally, he got his break in a short movie titled ‘Adrenochrome’. He said that he got a call from a big production house and when he told everything this to Karan he advised him not to go for that he would make a big movie for me and that movie was ‘Student Of The Year’.
He recalls some memories from his back days. Varun has first entered the set when he was just 10 years old and at that, he was being introduced to the original Judwaa hero. He interacted with him politely and said, ‘Hi, nice meeting you, Salman uncle. Salman must be off 30 at that time so Salman told him not to call him uncle he can call him Bhai and he even today he says his Salman Bhai. Almost after 20 years, Varun is all set to reboot that movie and he is also re-creating some of his songs like ‘Tan Tana Tan’ along with the actress Taapsee Pannu, which has also become the most shared GIF image of today and he revealed the famous bathtub scene from the movie Judwaa.
When he was shooting for the bathtub scene the time-tested lines were actually coming on his mind and he requested his dad David Dhawan to improvise with them because the audience would be expecting it. However, Varun promises that this will be new Judwaa despite being the old one. He even demonstrated the insight of the economics and said that today if we look at the prices of the tickets, the audience needs to be wooed to the theater with Imax or 3D technology and that cannot be enjoyed on laptops or on your screens for that you have to go to the theaters. He has even requested the studios to reduce the prizes of the ticket for the morning show so that the college-going students can also go and watch the movie.
He has even revealed that in the movie there are two brothers which almost strangle each other in Tom Hardy’s double take. He even insisted the legends that they take up the physical activity between the two movies so when you see Raja grab Prem by the neck and the latter pushing him back with anger and something he would not expect to see in David Dhawan’s movie.
He even said that he is very happy with his big brother though he is not sure if he has reciprocated his feeling given that he has always the one who pulled up when he is having an argument then he usually starts to bawling. With his big brother Rohit, he is very happy and he had never wished that he should have a twin too, However, whenever he is fighting with Rohit he would make him angry and aggressive, even if it was our mother and Varun feel okay to fight with his big brother, but if anyone says a word against him then you could not hold him back.
He has an overwhelming sibling love that he feels towards Rohit that he always wanted to a brother film and at that time Judwaa reboot felt just right. He has seen all the twin movie like ‘Ram aur Shyam’ and Seeta aur Geeta to Chalbaaz and Angoor, which is being a huge Sanjeev Kumar fan and it’s his all-time favorite. He has seen the movie Angoor for 20 times. Like Judwaa it’s sourced in Shakespear’s play Comedy of the errors. He says that every generation has had its Judwaas. Recently he was in Hyderabad where he met Nagarjuna and he recalled his 1994 action-comedy movie ‘Hello Brother’ and that was a Telugu original of Judwaa.
Talking about his movie ‘Judwaa 2’, which is a story of twins (Prem and Raja) they both are born in a businessman family but they are separated at birth when their father exposes their smuggling racket. In the movie, Varun Dhawan would be seen playing the double role of Prem and Raja. Where Raja can be seen in a rowdy avatar with a long hair and a charming smile. On the other hand, Prem is geeky and nerdy. In the movie, Varun can be seen doing romance with two hotties, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
