Tamil Nadu govt felicitates nine ISRO scientists

The Tamil Nadu government felicitated nine remarkable Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists from the state who have made significant contributions to the Indian space program on Thursday. The scientists, who hail from humble backgrounds and government schools, are Dr. K. Sivan, Dr. Mayilsamy Annadurai, Dr. V. Narayanan, Thiru. A. Rajarajan, Thiru. M. Sankaran, Thiru. J. Asir Packiaraj, Tmt. M. Vanitha, Tmt. Nigar Shaji, and Dr. Veeramuthuvel.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented each scientist with a cash award of Rs. 25 lakhs and announced scholarships in their names to nurture young talent. In his address, Stalin praised the scientists for their dedication and hard work, and said that they were an inspiration to the youth of Tamil Nadu.

The nine scientists felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Government have made significant contributions to the Indian space program. Dr. Sivan is credited with leading ISRO to achieve several milestones, including the launch of the Chandrayaan-2 mission and the Mars Orbiter Mission. Dr. Annadurai played a key role in the development of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) and the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).

The other scientists felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Government have also made significant contributions to the Indian space program in their respective areas of expertise. Dr. V. Narayanan is a leading expert in rocket propulsion, and Thiru. A. Rajarajan is a leading expert in satellite design.
