Xiaomi offshoot Poco has recently announced another affordable Android smartphone, this time as M3 that will come with some modest but enticing internals and low entry price.
Now a few might spot that Poco M3 looks almost same to Redmi Note 10 4G which is actually not wrong. Also, this latest Poco model comes with a new lick of paint and a few interesting internals for those who want an affordable Android experience.
The smartphone will feature a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a dewdrop notch at the top and will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset and 4GB RAM. It will have a 6,000mAh battery which can be topped up at 18W speeds through USB-C. Since it is so big, users can purchase an additional cable that will allow them to effectively use the Poco M3 as a power bank and charge other devices.
For security, Poco M3 has a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner and there is also AI Face Unlock capabilities. Being a cheaper smartphone, the smartphone also has a 3.5mm headphone port for wired audio as well. Storage can be expanded through microSD card up to 512GB with 64GB and 128GB models available for purchase.
The phone has a triple camera setup at the rear side which consists of a 48-megapixel main sensor, 2-megapixel macro camera and 2-megapixel depth sensor for fake bokeh effects. It is a modest rear camera setup which might not win many awards but it should be solid enough for many people. It has a 8-Megapixel camera at the front side.
The smartphone comes pre-installed with MIUI 12 flavor of Android 10. There is no confirmation on the potential upgrade path to Android 11 or will the device be eligible for Android 12 when available.
Poco M3 will be priced at $149 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant and $169 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB variant, although it is unlikely to come to US markets and officially making US pricing a strange notable in here. It will be available in three colours – blue, yellow and black.
