A historic sports betting deal has been entered between BetMGM, the Gila River Indian Community and the Arizona Cardinals.

This is fifth of such agreement between a sportsbook and a tribe and first such agreement between a sportsbook operator, a tribe and a professional sports team.

According to Gambling.com, MGM Chief Executive Officer Bill Hornbuckle said: “BetMGM’s operations grew 19% sequentially from the first quarter to this quarter. This was driven by growth in both iGaming and online sports betting verticals, as a result of increased customer acquisition and strong retention that yielded more first-time deposits and active users.”

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt stated in the news release: “Arizona sports fans are extremely passionate and we’re confident they’ll enjoy the BetMGM experience. Gila River Hotels & Casinos and the Arizona Cardinals represent the state’s premier casino destinations and sports franchise, making them the ideal partners for us.”

Under the deal, a sportsbook at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, will be launched at the NFL stadium, which is also first of its kind.

Gila River Hotels & Casino CEO Kenneth Manuel said: “Gila River Hotels & Casinos and the Arizona Cardinals have an everlasting partnership, offering guests exclusive experiences and remarkable rewards. As we explored our partner in sports betting, the unity with BetMGM, The King of Sportsbooks, ensures we deliver beyond all expectations”, as reported by Gambling Insider.
