Cyprus would need to wait a little longer for hosting massive casino playground as the City of Dreams Mediterranean integrated resort project has been delayed until 2022.

Due to COVID-19 and related complications, the casino operator was forced to halt the project for the time being. The incidental damages such as prolonged shutdowns, reduced cash flows and construction possibilities the COD project run by Melco Resorts International will have to wait until later part of the year 2022.

As per CalvinAyre.com’s report, CGCSV VP Phidias Pilides announced the delay when committee members began asking for an update on the project. While the VP acknowledged the pandemic induced delay, he assured that Melco would be able to complete the project by the year 2022.

Melco operates in partnership with Cyprus Casinos is already running satellite casinos in Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos and Ayia Napa. It also runs temporary casino in Limassol.
