Meet Maruti Suzuki Swift With Several Updates
Remember the outgoing model? The new one is based upon that but with a decent makeover. For starters, the front end is all revised with new projector headlamps, DRLs, a new grille and a sporty bumper. The side profile of the 2024 Swift will remind one of the discontinued model. However, the carmaker has updated the dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels with a new design. The rear end is also updated with new sharper LED taillamps.
Maruti Suzuki has decided to keep the overall dimensions intact, but there are minor updates. To be precise, the new Swift is now 3860mm long, 1735mm wide and 1520mm tall. The wheelbase is said to be 2450mm long, and the car is available in five trims, including LXi, VXi, VXi(O), ZXi and ZXi Plus.
The interior of the 2024 Swift is more premium than ever, thanks to a new layout. The carmaker has confirmed that it has become more driver-centric and now features a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel. The driver’s display on the hatchback is still analogue with an MID at the centre. Other than this, it comes with a standing 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless charger, and ARKAMYS surround sound system. The all-new Swift also gets connected car tech.

Under the hood, the change is significant with the introduction of an all-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The former unit is said to be replaced by a Z-series engine with an overall output rated at 81.58 horsepower and 111.7Nm of peak torque.
Available with a 5-speed manual and an optional AMT transmission, the 2024 Swift returns an impressive fuel efficiency of 24.80 kmpl and 25.75kmpl, depending upon the gearbox, respectively. The updated hatchback comes with a fuel tank that can store 37 litres of fuel.
In terms of safety, it is better than its predecessor with various safety features. The list includes 6 airbags, three-point seat belts (all seats), seat belt reminder (all seats), Hill Hold Assist, Anti-Lock Braking System and ESP, among others.
In India, the Maruti Suzuki Swift continues to compete against entry-level hatchbacks. However, in terms of price, it also compares with sub-four-meter crossovers and hatchbacks like Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20.
