In order to curb the pandemic, the Malaysian government had imposed Movement Control Order (MCO) which compelled various casinos to keep their venues closed.

Following the order, Resorts World Genting (RWG) had announced the closure of its properties temporarily till Jan 22. Now since the government has extended the operation of MCO, RWG has announced that it will remain closed until 18 February.

RWG is the flagship integrated resort of Genting Malaysia, whose statement read:  “Following the announcement made by the Government on 2 February 2021 to extend the Movement Control Order (MCO) until 18 February 2021, RWG will remain closed during this period. However, essential resort-based services such as security, bomba (fire and rescue), utilities and clinics will be operational.”
