Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday picked his Uncle and YSRCP Senior Leader YV Subba Reddy for the post of Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD).

YSR Congress organizational General Secretary YV Subba Reddy will assume the charge as Chairman from Saturday, June 22, an official statement stated. Special Chief Secretary Manmohan Singh issued a government order, appointing Reddy as the Head of the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD).
The Post of TTD Chairperson is nominated and is considered as a prestigious position with a Cabinet rank. Singh added that other members of the board will be appointed soon.
It comes after the state government had earlier in the day given approval to the resignation of the existing members of the Board.
As per the government’s release, the resignation was accepted in the exercise of the powers conferred under section 101 of Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987 (Act 30 of 1987)’.
The members of the board who tender their resignation include Sudha Narayana Murthy, Sugavasi Prasad Babu, Rudraraju Padmaraju, E.Peddi Reddy and Dokka Jagannadham as Members and N.Srikrishna and Bodanapu Ashok Reddy, as Special Invitee TTD Board.
TTD is a conglomeration of temples and maintains 12 temples and their sub-shrines. TTD has dedicated itself to serving pilgrims who visit Tirumala and Tirupati. It provides facilities to make their pilgrimage a unique and rewarding spiritual experience.
