Renowned sand artist, Sudarshan Pattnaik falls ill two days after his hunger strike on the beach near Bankimuhan in the seaside town. He has been admitted to a private hospital.
Earlier also he had shown his agitation about the pollution that is covering the whole beach at Puri through his art but nothing happened. Then he sent his complaint to Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik. Small steps were taken towards cleaning the beach but nothing massive happened. At last, he had to start a strike as his request to Odisha government was not answered.
He has created a sand art to show the pathetic condition of the Bankimuhan beach and even threatened to start a strike if the government fails to take any action against this. He wants the area pollution free.
Now the Puri’s Municipality has launched a drive to clean up the beach near Bankimuhan and make it pollution free at the earliest.
