The BJP party president Amit Shah is on a three-day trip to Lucknow as part of his 110-day journey to all states of the country ahead of the General elections due in 2019.

Addressing a meeting of intellectuals in the presence of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, Shah termed Yogi as a very popular politician. He said that under the rule of Yogi Uttar Pradesh will surely see the double digit growth. He also attacked the previous government mockingly saying that during the rule of Samajwadi Party the transformer of UP was lying burnt and hence the people could not benefit from the schemes launched by the Central government for the betterment of the people. He further added that Yogi has repaired the burnt transformer and now after Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, UP will also be able to implement all the schemes of the centre for the welfare of the people.

During the meeting, Yogi also praised Amit Shah saying that he was the Chanakya of electoral strategy and is hailed worldwide for his aggressive political intelligence. He said that Shah has helped Yogi on many fronts to solve the problem in UP especially with the law and order conditions of the state.

Further boasting about the predictions made by Shah, Yogi said that both in 2014 as well as in 2017 Shah has claimed that BJP will cross 65 seats in UP in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and 300 seats in the 2017 state elections and the same happened. He also pointed out his worries regarding the record wheat procurement as promised in its election manifesto on which Shah assured him not to be worried. Shah advised Yogi to set up a small team of ministers and officers and put in place a software system which will help in a systematic update of the situation.
Amit Shah also told Yogi to ignore the criticism of the increasing number of FIR’s in the state, instead, he said that 100% FIR’s should be registered and strict actions should be taken against the culprit without any bias. Yogi also revealed that Shah had advised him that the size of the state’s budget should be commensurate to its huge population so that basic facilities of water, electricity, roads and education reach the people. Following the advice of Shah, this year UP’s budget is the biggest ever, a total of Rs 3.84 lakh crore.
Both the leaders also had lunch at the house of a Yadav supporter of the party.
