Just a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party delivered spectacular results in the recently-held elections in three North Eastern states by winning two and managing to form governments in all of them, party chief Amit Shah met top brass of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, BJP’s idealogical parent, in Nagpur today.

Shah met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, general secretary Bhaiyaji Joshi and other senior functionaries in the organization’s headquarters for a three-hour long meeting that was convened possibly to discuss BJP’s electoral victory and its roadmap ahead for upcoming assembly polls.

The BJP president did not disclose any details about what was discussed behind closed doors. After that, he met former party chief and current Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari at his new residence in the city.

While addressing reporters after coming out from there, Shah answered a question on the upcoming Karnataka elections by saying, “You write it down. BJP will win in Karnataka.”

Amit Shah’s meeting with RSS at this juncture assumes significance as the organization is all set to host its annual Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting between 9th and 11th of this month. All subsidiary organizations of RSS take part in this meeting to discuss issues affecting them in particular and the nation in general.

According to political commentators, Shah’s discussions with RSS officials today, even before the Pratinidhi Sabha is officially convened, indicates that the party is going to get full support from the entire Sangh Parivar for next year’s general elections. This looked unlikely a few weeks ago as some factions like Akhil Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, which is the workers’ wing of RSS, had been publicly opposing the Modi government for many of its decisions.
