BJP leader Smriti Irani slams Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for disrupting Parliament proceedings

Bhartiya Janata Party leader and Union minister Smriti Zubin Irani held a media briefing on Wednesday in New Delhi. She slams Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for disrupting Parliament proceedings. 

Briefing media she asked, “The leader of the leaders who created a stalemate in Parliament, there is no discussion in the Parliament, the proceedings of the Parliament are adjourned, today BJP workers ask Rahul Gandhi, its creator, how many private member bills have you presented in the Lok Sabha in your parliamentary history?”

She further said, those who, being the MP of Amethi, have not asked a question for Amethi till date, who have kept less than 40 percent attendance in the winter session of 2019 Lok Sabha after leaving Amethi and going to Wayanad, today they should not conduct the proceedings of the Parliament, its Dedicating oneself to.

The Union minister said, “The Parliament of India is a symbol of India’s hopes and aspirations. The people of the country want those subjects to be discussed in the Parliament, which is important for every citizen of the country.”

The Union minister attacking Rahul Gandhi said, “Rahul Gandhi whose political history is also reflected by the fact that when he is in the country and when he is outside the country, it becomes a matter of concern for his party also. I want to tell him that he is curbing the productivity of Parliament. Do not try to apply continuously.”

It is to be noted that both the houses of Parliament have been adjourned for the day following uproar by the Opposition parties over price rise and GST hike on Tuesday.

In the Lower House, when the House re-assembled at 2 PM. After the first adjournment, members of Opposition parties including Congress, DMK, and Left trooped to the well-raising slogans.

The Presiding Officer repeatedly urged the agitating members to go back to their seats and allow the house to function, but they did not pay heed. 

Later, the house was adjourned for the day. In the morning, when the Lower House met for the day, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury tried to raise the issue of price rise.

The scene was no different in the Rajya Sabha as well.
