If sources to be believed, Congress prominent leader and MP in the upper house of the Parliament, Digvijay Singh may face questioning from Pune Police in relation with the arrest of 5 Activists in Koregaon Bhima case allegedly having Maoists links.

As per the police sources, A letter having the phone number of the senior Congress leader is surfaced in the documents seized by the police from the arrested activists.

Reportedly, The Pune Police has recently filed its charge sheet against five activists who were arrested in June during nation-wide raids- Surendra Gandling, Shoma Sen, Mahesh Raut, Rona Wilson, and Sudhir Dhalave. The alleged letter had also been a part of the charge sheet and investigation is underway, said a senior Police Official who was familiar with the development.

The later dated, September 25, 2017, that contains the phone number of Congress Stalwart seized from the accused Surendra Gandling- a Nagpur based lawyer- which was written by one of his Comrade Prakash. In the letter, it is mentioned that the ‘Congress agrees to assist us in intensifying nation-wide agitations using students and also agreed to fund further protests, in this regard you can reach our friend at (the Singh’s phone number) said police.

While Singh denied the accusations and challenged the Central government to arrest them. In Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, Singh said, “If I am guilty, I challenge the state as well as the Central government to arrest me”.

Police have so far booked 22 people under Unlawful Activity Protection Act (UAPA) and IPC, and several others have been House arrest. The other activists arrested in the case are Telugu poet Varavara Rao, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves, Sudha Bharadwaj.
