Government of Goa has clarified that citizens will need to furnish their Aadhaar details to obtain online certificates issued by the government. Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister – Goa announced it while launching a new portal for the state revenue department.

Speaking to the reporters, Manohar Parrikar clarified the stance that the government isn’t taking the right from the ones not having an Aadhaar card. He added that the people who can not verify their identity online will have to apply for those certificates in person.

Referring to the Supreme Court judgement, Parrikar added that the court has asked not to deny a particular service to a person not having Aadhaar card, however, the government can deny a particular facility if someone fails to prove their online identity. Parrikar also added that the Goa government is working on the goal of digital India and that majority of government services will move online before the end of this year.
