Intensifying its hunt for Lok Sabha Polls and State Polls in Odisha that slated to be clubbed, Indian National Congress on Wednesday released another list of Candidates for Lok Sabha Polls and State Polls in Odisha. The party in the list named one candidate for Lok Sabha Polls while 9 for State Assembly Polls in Odisha.

Earlier the party in its initial five lists announced candidates on 123 Assembly seats, with 36 on first, 54 on the second, 3, 20 and 9 in subsequent lists.

While the party in a run-up to the national elections has so far declared 353 Candidates.

The party in the latest list announced candidates selected by its Central Election Committee. They include:

For Lok Sabha Polls:

  1. Sarat Patnaik from Sambhalpur Lok Sabha Polls

For State Polls in Odisha

  1. Ashwani Pujari from Sambhalpur
  2. Niranjan Patnaik from Ghosipur
  3. Jagdish Mohanty from Cuttack Choudwar
  4. Abhishek Mahananda from Cuttack Sadar (SC)
  5. Sukanta Tiadi Bhoi from Jayadev (SC)
  6. Rajib Patnaik from Bhubaneswar Central
  7. Itish Pradhan from Bhubaneswar North
  8. Pradeep Sahoo from Begunia
  9. Pradeep Swain from Chilika

Congress in a run-up the Odisha State Polls has stitched an alliance with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and will take on Naveen Patnaik’s BJD and aggressive Bhartiya Janta Party.

With this list, Congress has now total declared Candidates on 132 Assembly Seats.

Both BJP and BJD have also started rolling out lists of Candidates for the state Polls.

The Odisha State Polls will be clubbed with the General Elections 2019. The State will Poll on the four rounds of Polling starting from April 11.

The State has a total of 147 State Assembly while having 21 Lok Sabha Seats. Currently, BJD has 117 lawmakers in the state assembly.

General Elections would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

The Counting of votes for the mega battle of ballots and the State Polls will take place on May 23, four days after last round of polling.
