Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy, has been accusing media for “misrepresentation” of his remarks on a woman farmer. Pissed off at his words being “interpreted differently”, he went further and declared that he would not address the press “hereafter for any reason.” He said that he would “limit the media to what I speak from the stage.” His words were, “I will not address the press for any reason. If you want, write or else leave it.”

He expressed his apprehension by saying, “These days I don’t understand what to speak. I may in the future have to speak, based on the suggestions made by a committee that will be formed about what the CM has to speak. I’m in such a situation.”

Peeved at the media, he said, “An advisory committee should be formed consisting of media friends. It will be good. On the suggestion, they give I will speak. I’m ready for that. With great pain, I’m saying all this.”

While  publicly regretting his comments against farmer leader Jayashree Gurannavar, the CM said, “My words during the valedictory speech of Krishi Mela on Sunday were taken out of context and blown out of proportion. My intention was not to hurt anybody’s sentiments. I regret if my comments have hurt her and withdraw my words.”

A controversy broke out after Kumaraswamy had hit back at Gurannavar, Belagavi-based farmer leader leading the protest on sugarcane prices, for calling him a ‘nalayak CM’ or ‘good for nothing CM’.

To this, Kumaraswamy said, “Where was she sleeping for four years when the sugar mills did not pay dues of farmers?”
