Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) ally at the center and in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena hailed the BJP manifesto on Wednesday and gave it a “200 out of 100” marks for its objectives. The manifesto talks of scrapping Article 370 of the constitution that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir and construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya that has been a subject of speculation for a few years. The Shiv Sena said that 2019 is the last chance to construct the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the country’s integrity cannot be compromised.

The party said that they agree with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the voters that BJP should receive votes for the Lok Sabha elections as respect towards the Bravehearts that had the courage to counter-attack Pakistan. The party lauded the manifesto for its promises in terms of agriculture, poverty, small traders, education, employment, farmers, youth, and women.

The BJP manifesto also promised the NRC in different parts of the country to push out the infiltrators and the terrorists leading to a terror-free country.  The Shiv Sena lauded the party of mentioning problems like eradication of poverty and at the same time giving special importance to issue like the construction of the Ram Mandir and the scrapping of the article 370.

Shiv Sena said in an editorial ‘Saamana’ that “The BJP’s Sankalp Patra encapsulated the feeling of nationalism. Even the Shiv Sena’s demand has been included in the manifesto. We, therefore, give ‘200 out of 100 marks’ to the manifesto.”

The Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena criticized the National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti who have demanded a different prime minister for national Jammu and Kashmir alleging that if Article 370 is scrapped, Jammu and Kashmir will have to rethink about its associations with India. The Sena criticized Dr, Farooq Abdullah who threatened the hoisting of the Indian Flag in Jammu and Kashmir if the special status is revoked. Shiv Sena said that the mouth of such people should be shut and their tounges should be cut.
