BJP MLA, Pramila Singh quits the party, joins Congress

BJP MLA Pramila Singh has quit the party over denial of ticket and has joined the Congress. Pramila, who was a BJP MLA from Jaisingh Nagar constituency in Shahdol district, was welcomed into the Congress party in the presence of senior party leader Ajay Singh.

The new Congress leader claimed that although the BJP has been talking of women empowerment, it did not grant her a ticket to contest the polls even though she served the people and the party for five years, reported ANI.

“The government talks about empowering women, but they have not given a ticket to a woman who served people and the Bharatiya Janata Party for five years. I have joined the Congress now. I don’t want to do politics but work for the welfare of people,” she said.

Last Thursday, another Congress leader, Fatima Siddiqui decided to quit the party and join the BJP. She is the daughter of prominent Congress leader from MP, late Rasool Ahmad Siddiqui. She will be contesting from the same seat from where her father used to contest that is ‘Bhopla North’.

Madhya Pradesh is scheduled to go to polls on November 28 to elect 230 members of the legislative assembly. The results for all the poll bound states will be declared on December 11.
