While addressing at the world peace and harmony conclave on Sunday vice president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Shia Maulana Kalbe Sadiq said that even if the Supreme Court’s decision on the Babri Masjid and the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute goes in favor of the Muslims, they should give the land to the Hindus.

Kalbe Sadiq said that both communities should resolve this issue with mutual respect and understanding. he told, “When the verdict of Supreme Court comes, even if it is in the interests of the Muslims, then they should give the land to the Hindus. Muslims should accept the court’s decision with peace and harmony.” He humbly requested to the Muslims that if they win the case still they should give the disputed property to the Hindus and added that “If you do not give anything then you will not get anything.” By giving away a small piece of land, they will win the hearts of millions.

However, the Muslim All India Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) corned from the statement saying that it was his personal view and the board had nothing to do with it. The Muslim Personal Law Board is the petitioner in Babri Masjid and Ram Mandir land dispute. Muslim board member Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangamahali said, “This is their personal opinion. The Muslim Personal Law Board has clearly said that whatever is the decision the court will be accepted and it was at that time even supported by Maulana Kalbe Sadiq. This decision was passed by both the General Body of the Personal Law Board and the Executive Council.”

The hearing for the Babri Masjid-Ram temple dispute was held on Friday 11 Aug in the Supreme Court. After the hearing, the courts gave a period of three months time to all the parties to gather and translate all the required and necessary documents. 5 Dec is set as the next date for the hearing. The court has ordered that it will listen to both the parties and hence they should be ready with all the decisions.

After losing the battle of Babri Masjid after 71 years, the Shia Waqf Board of Uttar Pradesh had reached the Supreme Court on Wednesday 9th August 2017. Where the board challenged the judgment pronounced in the favor of the Sunni Board on March 30, 1946. In its petition, the Board acknowledged that the construction of the Babri Masjid was done by breaking a temple built there.

The Shia Waqf Board appealed to the court that its petition along with other petitions should also be taken into account. Significantly, one day before filing the petition in the Supreme Court, the board had said that it is ready to shift the Babri Masjid to another place, to finish the dispute. Advocate SC Dhingra filed the petition of the Waqf board in the Supreme Court. The petition read that the court had made a big mistake by giving ownership rights to Sunni Waqf Board on Babri Masjid because the mosque was built by a Shia Muslim. It is believed that the Babri Masjid was built by the Mughal Emperor Babur, but challenging this, the Board claimed that the Babri Masjid was constructed by Babur Minister Abdul Mir, who belonged to the Shai community, while Babur belonged to the Sunni community.
