After Jayapur and Nagepur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has adopted Kakrahia, a wrestlers’ village, in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi, under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. This announcement was made by Yogi Adityanath on 2nd July 2017. He visited the village to tell this news to the all the villagers personally. He even gifted 5 solar operated charkhas to women and distributed school bags and clothes among children.
Villagers were very happy with Adityanath’s visit and they were hoping to see Narendra Modi visiting their village in future. They found a scope of development in their village after this announcement. A special request was made by the villagers to develop a sports complex keeping in mind their love for sports.
This village is known for its wrestlers and wrestling arenas. It is also famous for its flower cultivation. Hopefully, this village will also come into limelight just like Jayapur and Nagepur.
