Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his third rally within a week in the West Bengal yet again launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and alleged her of defaming the soil of West Bengal and rendered its people helpless. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his rally in Jalpaiguri said, ‘It was the first time that a chief minister had sit on Dharna to protect those who had looted lakhs of people’ while referring latest standoff between CBI and Kolkata Police that led to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sitting on Dharna.

Addressing a well-attended BJP rally in North Bengal’s district, Modi said it was an “extortionist syndicate” and not ‘Didi’, as Banerjee is fondly called, that was running the state.

“Those who got power in Bengal in the name of ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’ after unseating the Left have also adopted the culture of violence. They have defamed the soil of Bengal and rendered its people helpless,” Modi said in Hindi while attacking TMC government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while hitting out Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, said, ‘Didi dreams of becoming the PM, but is not concerned about Bengal. The TMC has only promoted bloodshed in the state’. ‘Didi is not scared of me but people of the state’ PM Modi added.

This “chowkidar” will spare neither the perpetrators of chit fund scams nor those protecting them. The people of Bengal are our inspiration, energy and strength, said PM Narendra Modi at rally in Bengal.

PM Modi during his visit also laid the Foundation stone for the four laning of the Falakata-Salsalabari section of National Highway-31 D in Jalpaiguri. This 41.7 km-long section of National Highway falls in the Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal, and will be constructed at a cost of about Rs 1938 crore, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

He also inaugurated New High Court Circuit Bench in Jalpaiguri.

Following PM’s rally, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a press conference slammed PM Narendra Modi and said, ‘During the election, he (PM) becomes ‘Chaiwalla’ after the election he becomes ‘Rafale walla’.

Accusing the Prime Minister of taking credit of new High Court circuit bench, Banerjee said, ‘ I feel ashamed to talk about this person (PM). Nobody from Kolkata Hc was present. All infrastructure was paid for by us. The land is ours, the circuit bench is of HC but nobody from them was there. It means the bride-bridegroom wasn’t there but the band party was there’.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also addressed a rally in Chhattisgarh.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while speaking in Lok Sabha took a jibe at recent Mahagathbandhan rally organized by Mamata Banerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘People have seen the work a Government with an absolute majority can do. They have seen our work. They do not want a ‘Mahamilavat’ Government of those who recently gathered in Kolkata’.

Earlier, on 2 February, PM Modi addressed two rallies in West Bengal. PM Modi applauded the Interim Budget 2019 and also racked the Mamata Banerjee in her home turf during those rallies.’
