After registering a massive victory in the recently concluded national polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on Sunday to seek blessings of her mother Heeraben Modi’s before taking oath as a Prime Minister for the second term. He will also visit Varanasi on Monday to thank voters for re-electing him for the second term.

Announcing his proposed trips to Gujarat and UP’s Varanasi, PM Modi took to twitter and said, ‘Will be going to Gujarat tomorrow evening, to seek blessings of my Mother. Day after tomorrow morning, I will be in Kashi to thank the people of this great land for reposing their faith in me’, he said.

He had last month visited his mother before filing nomination for the Varanasi Lok Sabha Seat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party in the recently concluded national polls secured 303 seats, 22 more than it got in the 2014 elections. BJP along with its allies, the NDA took it’s tally up to 352 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. In Uttar Pradesh, BJP along with its ally Apna Dal (S) won 64 Lok Sabha Seats.

While in states like Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand party bagged all the seats of states. BJP in Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, also totally limited the opposition in two-three seats.

BJP in the latest polls also managed to make inroads in states like West Bengal and Odisha – the strongholds of TMC and BJD respectively. Party’s in the Mamata Banerjee‘s bastion made a big dent and secure victory on 18 seats while 8 seats bagged by the party in Naveen Patnaik‘s bastion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi won the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat with a huge margin of 4.70 lakh votes by defeating Shalini Yadav of Samajwadi party.

On Friday, five legislators of Varanasi district, two MLCs and District President of BJP Varanasi had visited the Prime Minister to deliver a certificate of his victory.

‘Party colleagues from Kashi gave me the official certificate of election from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency! Feel happy to be representing one of the oldest and most vibrant centres of Indian culture’, PM Modi tweeted after receiving a certificate of his victory.
