A 60 gms of highly explosive powder was found in Uttar Pradesh State Assembly a week ago and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for a high-level meeting to discuss the same on Friday. He had also urged the centre to look into the matter with utmost urgency.

A home ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday that the Home Ministry had recovered a report on the recovery of PETN at the assembly premises. The Centre is likely to hand over the matter to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further probe into the case.

About 150 grams of PETN (Pentaerythritol tetranitrate) explosive was found wrapped in a paper close to the seat of the Leader of the Opposition, Ram Govind Choudhary, in the assembly on July 12.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the situation as a “dangerous terror conspiracy” and he has also urged the intervention of the National Investigation Agency to investigate the matter as soon as possible.
