RSS is all set for the big show on 25th February, the Rashtrodaya Sammelan 2018. It will be one of the largest human gatherings in the world.
The Sammelan will significantly increase RSS’ presence in Uttar Pradesh, particularly western U.P. Over 2 lakh volunteers are expected to attend the event. The volunteers attending belong to different regions such as Meerut, Saharanpur and Moradabad. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is also expected to attend the event. The circle has been prepared for the gathering and also consists of a 101 feet long flagpole on which Bhagwat is going to hoist the flag.
Recently Bhagwat attended an RSS gathering in Assam, the Sangh’s largest mobilisation in the north-east so far. The idea of this gathering is to spread the reach of the organisation in preparation for the general elections in 2019. Pracharaks were specifically assigned the job of mobilising a gathering to attend the event. This will be the largest congregation in the history of RSS. The security for the event has also been organised on a larger scale. ATS and NSG commandos are being deployed ahead of the event. The site has also been investigated by the police and administration of Meerut. Expecting traffic woes, heavy vehicles were stopped from entering the city one night prior to the event. A 200 feet long, 100 feet wide and 60 feet high dais has been specially made for the event which is placed on 200 feet long chariot that symbolises ‘Bharat Mata’.
Arrangements have been made to accommodate up to 3 lakh volunteers. This is a one-day gathering and the volunteers are expected to be in uniform. The focus will be on the rural areas, 2.18 lakh participants of the event belong to villages and 93,364 belong to the urban areas of the district. The event will be nothing short of eventful one can be assured.
